Win a Lactivist Mug with your relaxation tips for mums – (ends 31st Oct 2011)

It’s not that easy to find time to relax with a cuppa when you are a mum. Books that say ‘find time for yourself’ just don’t really understand what it’s like.

So, I’m asking real mums how they do it – how do you relax? The best tip will win a Lactivist Mug from www.lactivist.co.uk

They are new in for Autumn 2001, measure 80mm in diameter and are 92mm high. They are made in Eastern Europe, not China. The images are heat pressed so the artwork is embedded into the ceramic mug. They won’t fade and they are dishwasher safe. They have been tested for months in a dishwasher with no deterioration in quality. They will be back in stock in early October.

Maybe your relaxation tip would be a recipe for hot chocolate to go in the mug, maybe it’s a breathing technique, a way to do yoga with a baby in a sling or what you put in the bath that helps you slow down and rest.

To win a Lactivist Mug just leave a comment on www.lactivist.net/?p=3547 telling us how you relax as a busy mum.

You can earn an extra entry for each of these things:

Please remember to tell us how many entries you are claiming!

As a working mum my favourite way of relaxing is snuggled up in my pj’s with coronation street on, a large mug of hot chocolate ( hopefully a lactivist one) and breastfeeding a very tired boy who is just dropping to sleep. If all else fails a rather large glass of wine in the bath will do it :-)
Facebook page liked, shared on twitter and Facebook and the monkeys name is Isaac.

I have a rocking chair in little uns room and the best relaxation for me is to rock my babe to sleep after a feed and then sit cuddling him whilst he sleeps and watch his beautiful face.

Monkey’s name is Isaac but can’t take a point for that as Kate typed it :)

I like to relax by just taking 5 minutes out of my day to sit quietly, close my eyes and breathe deeply and slowly. I find it really helps :)

Walking with my little one in the sling, cuddeling up with her when shes sleepy on the bed, reading a good book when she’s asleep on my lap – and if i’m having a tough day a big bar of chocolate helps!

When daddy gets home from work he always takes dd upstairs with him while he has a wash and gets changed so I get 10-20 minutes to just relax with a cuppa. Babywearing helps me to relax as well. I love baking while dd naps on my back :)

I relax by feeding my boy to sleep and falling asleep beside him all snuggled up together. Sometimes my daughter joins us too. It’s just lovely.

I find the best way to relax is to have calm babies. If i feel my 4 year old is getting too excitable, we pretend we are blowing up balloons or blowing bubbles to try and centre her breathing and calm her. Feeding my boy to sleep relaxes me so much that i fall asleep too. Failing that, its a little ebm (aka daddy milk) for ds and some daughter-daddy bonding for dd while i go for a steam room and swim at the local pool ;) (be sure to drink plenty fluids). I relax when boobilating! Comfy spot on the sofa, laptop/book/crochet/Voyeuristic TV and a cuppa (with a few biscuits) to hand and one baby (well preschooler now!)busy having boob juice….The only problem is we (nursling and I) like *relaxing* a bit too much and can spend all day like it! *blushes*

I relax by breastfeeding, knitting and surfing the internet at the same time. Apart from when I’m asleep, that’s as relaxed as I get and I love it.

i knit..ive discovered how to knit and breast feed at the same time..so i knit, eat cake and drink tea all whilst breast feeding, it forces me to take time out, and relax!

I have a relaxing pamper session with my 19 week old daughter when my husband is out on night shifts.

We have a candlelit relaxing bath with music followed by a massage for her and then an early night in bed with a film snuggled up breastfeeding to sleep :-)

    I love being a mummy

I love to relax by listening to some of my ‘old favourite’ music on the radio, whilst doing a little bit of sewing in the evening.

I think that during day after day of being a mum, it can feel a bit daunting that nothing ever seems to get ‘finished’. Everything seems to get put off until tomorrow, and all the small achievements seen to go unnoticed. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing something whole and new that you have made. A project seen through until the end. Even if it is a small felt toy for the little ones, there is (for me anyway) no greater joy than feeling that “ahhh, finished” feeling <3

I don’t get much time to relax :( even having a bath I have my 20 month old stood next to me trying to grab his drinking implements then trying to get in with me

But when he does have his mummy milk and goes to sleep I make a hot brew put my feet up and ‘arrrrrr’ relax while also on the net on my phone that’s my bit of me time :)
