What should be in a breastfeeding room at a baby show?

Karen, the lovely mum behind www.boobiemilk.co.uk (who sponsor Lactivist) is going to be sponsoring the breastfeeding room at the Sussex Baby and Toddler show in Hastings on the 10th March.

She would like to know if you have any ideas for things she can do in the room. She can put posters up, leaflets, anything really. What would make it really good? There will already be water, flowers, some free sample breast pads in the room.

Sounds like it will be lovely Some books, toys or colouring supplies to help to keep older siblings amused whilst mum is feeding would probably be very helpful.

Some cushions or pillows, last year it was a nice room and comfy sofas but I don’t remember there being any cushions to help support new babies, although I had a toddler that didn’t need them so they might have been there. Samples of nipple cream, magazines for mum to read and biscuits.

Thank you everyone for all of your help – I just wrote something on my blog about the event – http://boobiemilk.blogspot.com/2012/03/mothers-day-and-sussex-baby-toddler.html The day went very well and the breastfeeding room was well received. I heard lots of great comments about the pillows.
