New Lactivist T-shirt design, I need your opinion!

Before this goes to print I really need your opinions on it, do you like it, would you buy it (on baby and kid t-shirts at the moment).still3

I am sorry that it has taken me so long to get these out, the colourful one is for t-shirts and the black and white one for bags.

Do you like the face? Do you like the heart behind it? Can you tell it is a heart? Does it look a bit like breasts and a heart?

It will be printed on organic fairly traded t-shirts which are a beautiful soft cream colour.

What do you think?

Lisa

I don’t like “still breastfeeding”. Sends the wrong message. By implication, assumes most women should have stopped by now, and yet this mother is choosing to keep going, despite the obvious time to stop. Wrong message.

“Growing on breastmilk, and proud of it”

“Thriving on breastmilk, and proud of it!”

    “Continuing to thrive on breastmilk!”

“Proud to be a breastfed toddler!”

“Proud to be walking with Mama’s Milk!”

“Proud to be breastfeeding and munching solids too!”

    You get the drift…

  • hmm, I see what you mean Morgan,

I used ‘still breastfeeding’ because it is what I heard all the time ‘are you still breastfeeding him? even when he was 4 months old and certainly when he was a toddler! Yes, I’d reply I am ‘Still’ breastfeeding him and will go on ‘still’ breastfeeding him until he decides to stop! Everytime I see the phrase I can hear the inflections in it that judged me.

I like it and can see the heart but I think the face isn’t quite right. I’m not sure if it’s the ears? It just seems a bit alien like to me :/

  • Sam, I see what you mean, I have squished the face up a little and will work on it a bit more to de-alien it but we are going into monkey territory if I am not careful :-)

Exactly – it’s using the language used against us! :-)

    Premature Western Weaning?

    Not for us!

  • Again not a fan of the face – I think the alien thing comes from the tuft of hair.

I also don’t like the word ‘still’ – I think Morgan’s suggestions above are all great though – Like the walking one most.

I quite like the face and the heart design. The tag line on some of your other products “still breastfeeding- still none of your business” is a great message but for this T-shirt, why not just have “breastfeeding and proud of it”. Anyone wearing it sends out the message that they are (still) breastfeeding!

As I said via Twitter, “still” suggests not the norm.I like the word sustained but it’s rather long.

I get the intention of the word “still” yet feel its a stronger and more postive message with the following two suggestions from Morgan.

Proud to be a breastfed toddler!”

“Proud to be walking with Mama’s Milk!”

I’d also like to add, that I am thrilled to see toddler shirts for this. My son is 27 months, LOVES nursing and now more than ever I’d love for him to have a shirt like this…I’d also like the family bed one in a size 2/3 as well!

Another idea; what about giving the baby a visable tooth?

someone who knows I’ve ‘only just’ started BLW my 7mth old, noticed my son chewing on my finger the other day and proclaimed “oh once those teeth come he’ll need to be eating some solids” WTF??- tell that to my friend who’s daughter got her first tooth at 6weeks lol

  • I was thinking of giving him a tooth, I’ll have a play around with it again tomorrow, thanks everyone!

How about a tee for moms that reads, “I’m Breastfeeding My Baby and Proud Of It!”

Tee for babies that reads, “My Mommie’s Milk is Best For Me!”

No need to put a picture on the tees because the statements speak for themselves. I would buy them!
