Mums Needed for Breastfeeding Public Health Advert

Woman Power… A DVD made for women BY women.
Virginia Howes Independent Midwife and Goldhawk Media film makers, whose producer is also a former midwife, are creating a breastfeeding promotional DVD and are calling all breastfeeding women to take part. It will be aimed at all childbearing women and society as a whole, fronted by young mothers who are sassy and glamorous! It will involve a famous piece of music and with a Christmas theme. Think of a cross between the huge hits “Calendar Girls” and the BBC’s “A Perfect Day”.
Our goal is to see it on TV as an advert for Public Health. We are asking for Department of Health/Government
endorsement for this pilot but would like to be commissioned to make a further 4 DVD’s with Spring, Summer,
Autumn and Winter themes.
We believe seeing happy, smiling, formula fed babies on TV advertising should be banned. There is a need for a strong breastfeeding campaign as was seen with the anti smoking and seatbelt drive. Breastfeeding is a Public Health issue and needs urgently addressing.
Filming to take place: 04/12/10 at 11am

The DVD will be released almost immediately after this.
A large group shot of breastfeeding women is needed for filming and requests for them to attend are currently on many interested internet groups and forums.
