Maggie Gyllenhaal (born November 16, 1977) is an American actress. She is the daughter of director Stephen Gyllenhaal and screenwriter Naomi Foner Gyllenhaal, and the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. Gyllenhaal began her acting career in a film directed by her father, and later achieved recognition in her own right playing her real brother’s on-screen sister in Donnie Darko.

She was snapped by the press nursing in public and got heaps of stick for it.

I’m sorry, but if I were a woman and had to choose between whether I was going to feed my baby or protect the fragile sensibilities of assholes who feel like it’s their right to prolong their adolescences well into middle age, the baby wins every time.

And comparing breastfeeding to rag changing or shitting in public? That’s just fucking sick.
