Competition Time – Win Lansinoh Disposable Breast Pads

I’ve been spring cleaning and found 2 boxes of these breastpads. I used to sell them on www.lactivist.co.uk but stopped a while ago so  I could focus on just selling pro-breastfeeding slogan things.

Lansinoh say “Lansinoh Disposable Nursing Pads have an ultra-thin but super-absorbent contour for a natural fit that won’t show under clothing. The soft, stay-dry lining draws milk away from the skin and into the core of the pad where it is absorbed by a special polymer to prevent leakage. Featuring a non-slip adhesive tape so that the pad stays in place, this is the only polymer style pad that keeps its shape when wet. The pads are hygienically wrapped for cleanliness and convenience – perfect to slip into your bag when out and about.”

So….. to win a packet of Lansinoh Disposable Breast Pads just put a comment below telling me what you think is the best thing about breastfeeding. The 2 winners will be chosen at the end of May 2010.

Only for lactivists in the UK and Europe though, sorry!

Lisa

  • Though it hasn’t been without its challenges (latching issues, thrush, comfort sucking, sleepless nights, cracked nipples, etc etc) I cannot think of a nicer way to feed my daughter. The knowledge that, for the past five weeks of her life, I have been providing everything she needs to grow (as of today she’s 8lb 13oz from a birth weight of 7lb 0.5oz) is just such a wonderful feeling, and I wouldn’t swap that feeling for anything!

Noah is the 4th baby i have breastfed, all for different amounts of time. i love the closeness of it, the fact im doing the best for my baby and all of the usual things you’ll get told. my usual comeback for people who tell me to formula feed when im tired from a growth spurt tho is my favourite reason for breastfeeding… i simply say im too lazy to bottle feed. there are no bottles to wash, sterilise, make up or heat etc, its extra time to spend with all 4 of my kids (all under 4) and it leaves me 1 hand free to read a book, play tea parties or spiderman etc with my other kids while im feeding. if i didnt breast feed i would have to try and distract them so i could use both hands to feed my baby, im much to lazy for that so breastfeeding all the way for me ;)

I have breast fed all three of my children until they were just over one year old. As well as being the best nutritional start your baby can have it’s also much easier – no bottles to sterilize, no feeds to make up, don’t need to warm it up, plus its FREE!

Bonding with the baby but also knowing you are giving your child the best start in life you can.

The best thing is knowing that your baby is getting the best possible nourishment, and boosting their immune system, something that bottle fed babies just can’t get.

It is an amazing feeling to know that you are feeding your baby 100% natural product. Helping them grow and building up their immune system.

Nuzzling my toddlers hair, it’s like a kittens :) When she was little, having the security that she always had a high quality source of nutrition through weaning whether she ate or not, and that I could protect her from the worst of her baby bugs and colds.

It protects both mum and baby, and you haven’t got to get out of bed in the middle of the night (which when you have winter babies like me is a god send)

Breast feeding is providing my baby with all the nourishment she needs. Its natures way for a mother to provide the very best milk to her baby. I gave my baby life and now I am able to provide everything she need in the first months of life just how nature intended.

It’s such a difficult decision because there’s so many good things. It has to be the freedom it provides. Anytime, anywhere and no waiting, warming or carrying equipment and formula. If it’s the middle of the night or early in the morning it’s just back to bed and back to sleep, no hassle at all.

I think the best thing about breast feeding is the immediate bond it gives you with your baby. Not to mention all the health benefits it has

The best thing, is that you don’t have to get up in the middle of the night.

The best thing is seeing their little mouths wobble and reach out in tiny baby desperation, then watching the resulting pleasure on their faces as they suck contentedly away.

It is also convienient, hassle free and can be done anywhere, in a field, up a tree, with no need to drag sterilised bottles and warming equipment.

Breastfeeding – its the way mother nature intended!

looking at my 10 month old and being able to say “I did that-all on my own” (especially overcoming the first 4 months of persevering with tongue tie, mastitis, twisted ducts and cracks and seeing what a happy, confident boy my baby is becoming) what a sense of motherly pride and achievment.

The best thing about breastfeeding is the comfort factor. Not only is it comforting for baby, it is for me too. My four month old kicks and wriggles all over the place and even when you’re holding him will rarely stay still. Breastfeeding is one of the few times in the day when he calms down and I just love those cuddles!

If your lucky to be able to bestfeed, this can give you child the best start to build up immunities and not to mention the precious bonding time it gives to both that is so important.

  • Oh my that was a difficult choice, Lisa won for her answer that mentioned kittens, they get me every time and I know just what she means!

“Nuzzling my toddlers hair, it’s like a kittens :) When she was little, having the security that she always had a high quality source of nutrition through weaning whether she ate or not, and that I could protect her from the worst of her baby bugs and colds.”

And I totally relate to all that Fay Jessop has to say, been there, done that and now I sell the t-shirts!

“Though it hasn’t been without its challenges (latching issues, thrush, comfort sucking, sleepless nights, cracked nipples, etc etc) I cannot think of a nicer way to feed my daughter. I have contacted the winners but if the rest of you would like a small sample pack of Lansinoh as a thank you for entering please just email me your address – moomum@lactivist.co.uk, honestly the answers were so good it was almost impossible to choose winners.

  • I’m nursing my 2nd right now who will be 7th months old on the 10th.

I think the best think about BFing is knowing that my body can do something so amazing. I call it the 4th trimester because your body just keeps right on going making exactly what your baby needs just as it did for the 40 or so weeks leading up to their birth. It makes me love and respect my body for what it is; stretch marks and all.
