Dear Aunty Lactivist My Medela Breast pump broke after a few uses and I don’t have the receipt! I don’t really want to buy another expensive electric pump if I don’t have to. Just wondering if any of you think manual pumps are useful at all? I just need a pump a few times a week so that I can have the odd night out, not for work. Any opinions??|

im pretty sure medela doa pump refurbishment service. its worth giving them a call and seeign if they’ll look at it for you, medela pumps and generally fab x

medela have a website and do spares. They’ re usually very good, drop them a line.

I have a medela swing & couldn’t have managed without it when I was expressing at work. Have a manual pump too but it doesn’t work nearly as well for me – left me quite sore sometimes & not as effective either in time or volume expressed so I think it’s worthwhile seeing if you can get the electric one repaired. good luck!
